Comboni Alliance for Social Entrepreneurship (CASE) is a faith-based social enterprise that was established in 2018 to respond to African social challenges and create a new model of sustainability for the church and Africa.
CASE was founded to respond to various social challenges, especially amongst the most disadvantaged groups in the society.
CASE develops a capacity for social innovation and promotion of social entrepreneurship. The idea of CASE is inspired by Daniel Comboni’s vision of the regeneration of Africa as a path to the social transformation of the continent.
CASE is registered as a Trust in Kenya and belongs to the Comboni Missionaries working in 16 African countries. Hence CASE is the umbrella body that coordinates the promotion of social enterprises in 16 African countries. CASE activities focus on the socioeconomic gaps in society and seek to find innovative approaches to address them by developing the capacity of people.

The CASE Smart Farm

The Case Smart Farm represents an innovative model for urban smart farming, designed to maximize productivity within limited spaces. Emphasizing the efficient utilization of space, the primary focus is on ensuring food security while maintaining a high level of productivity and product quality. The farm addresses challenges related to soil health and water management, seeking solutions through collaboration with field experts and investing in research to enhance system productivity. Actively participating in events centered around agro ecology, the farm explores sustainable practices and highlights the need for increased networking and collaboration to expand knowledge. The Smart Farm extends its impact through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, particularly emphasizing climate change issues, with a specific focus on waste management. Engaging in urban farming and incorporating agro ecological practices, the Smart Farm prioritizes organic farming by avoiding the use of chemicals and pesticides. This holistic approach aligns with the farm’s commitment to social entrepreneurship as a solution to critical issues in agriculture and environmental sustainability.
